Common Questions about Malpractice, Licensing and Litigation

How is this going to impact me as a doctor, nurse or another healthcare professional?

We are available to guide healthcare professionals through litigation and licensing matters. One of our goals is to minimize the impact on you; however, your participation and cooperation will pay dividends toward successful resolution. We will work hard throughout the course of the litigation to represent you with honesty and integrity with a goal of successful and fair resolution as expeditiously as possible.

What is my individual exposure?

A healthcare professional’s individual exposure will often be dictated by the presence and/or amount of insurance coverage available. There are liability/damages caps in place for health care providers who are not guilty of intentional acts or reckless conduct.

What is going to happen to my license to practice medicine or nursing?

The impact, if any, of a medical negligence complaint on your license is determined on a case by case basis. The licensing authority can take dramatic action against a healthcare provider’s license, including, but not limited to, revoking the license to practice medicine or nursing. We will work diligently to represent you in a licensing matter and work to obtain a successful result for you.
