After beginning his career in the general practice of law, Jim concentrated his practice in bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and commercial litigation. In 1993, he was certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a specialist in Bankruptcy and Collection Law, a designation reflecting advanced expertise in representing creditors in complex matters. He remains actively involved in bankruptcy proceedings, creditor‑debtor disputes, reorganizations, and related litigation.
Jim is also an experienced commercial litigator, regularly handling business disputes and advising clients on efficient resolution strategies. He is known for his ability to evaluate complex matters early, identify key issues, and guide clients toward outcomes that balance business objectives with legal realities.
He is a graduate of The Citadel and the University of South Carolina School of Law, institutions that helped shape his disciplined, service‑oriented approach to legal practice.
