
Weyman Carter focuses his practice on representing creditors in commercial bankruptcy, foreclosure, and banking matters, helping financial institutions and businesses resolve distressed assets. He has extensive experience handling cases in federal bankruptcy court, South Carolina state courts, and out-of-court workouts. His clients include banks, commercial lenders, businesses with real estate interests, and other creditors navigating insolvency-related challenges.
Weyman has successfully litigated and negotiated complex financial disputes, including fraudulent conveyance claims, lender liability defenses, and multi-property foreclosure actions. He also advises clients on bankruptcy-related tax issues and the enforcement of secured interests in real estate and personal property.
Before his legal career, Weyman served as a sheriff’s deputy, an experience that strengthened his ability to assess challenges from multiple perspectives and develop strategic solutions.
Weyman earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his B.A. from Wofford College. Outside of the office, he enjoys competitive shooting and cooking.
