Founding Partner Bill Coates Named to SC Lawyers Weekly Power List
Cassidy Coates Price, P.A. is pleased to announce that founding partner Bill Coates has been named to the South Carolina Lawyers Weekly Power List for Commercial and Consumer Litigation.
The Power List recognizes attorneys across South Carolina who have distinguished themselves through their work in complex, high-stakes litigation. Coates’ selection reflects a career spanning more than 40 years and marked by notable leadership, service, and results.
A former assistant U.S. attorney, Coates began his legal career in government service before transitioning to private practice, where he built a reputation for effective advocacy in both commercial and criminal matters. Today, his practice includes commercial and corporate litigation, real estate and financial disputes, environmental litigation, governmental investigations and white-collar criminal defense.
Coates served as a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond and as counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee early in his career. He is a past recipient of the Order of the Palmetto, the state’s highest civilian honor, and the Robert W. Hemphill Award from the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association.
Throughout his career, Coates has remained committed to the integrity of the legal profession. “Bill has been a go-to lawyer for complex litigation in this state for decades,” said Trey Suggs, Litigation Practice Leader at Cassidy Coates Price. “Those of us who have worked alongside him know how much preparation, judgment, and strategic thinking he brings to every case. This recognition is well deserved.”
Cassidy Coates Price, P.A. congratulates Bill on this well-earned recognition and is proud to celebrate his continued contributions to the legal community.
